Browser-first tools
MySkills renders Markdown preview and subscription conversion in your browser. Those flows do not send your document or node list to MySkills. A subscription URL may be fetched by your browser if the provider allows cross-origin access; otherwise paste content locally.
Concretely: the Markdown editor's preview and the subscription converter's parser both run as JavaScript inside your own tab. The page loads a script from this server, and the script reads what you typed — but there is no request that carries your content back. If you disconnect from the network after the page loads, both features keep working.
Browser print-to-PDF is the same story. It uses your own browser's print engine and never contacts this server.
Server PDF export
If you use the server PDF button, the Markdown is sent to the MySkills PDF service on this server for rendering. The service uses it to create the requested PDF and does not use it as a public document. Do not submit confidential material unless you have reviewed this risk.
This is the one flow where your content leaves your machine, and the difference is visible in the interface: the editor shows a notice when server export is selected. Server rendering is what produces a proper A4 file with consistent styling, and it is counted against a daily quota. The browser print path is unlimited and local, so it is the better choice for sensitive material.
The service runs on this same server. Rendering uses a headless browser, so the document is loaded into a local browser process to be laid out and printed to PDF.
Free GEO diagnosis
The GEO diagnosis stores the submitted website URL, brand name, email address, self-description, network address, timestamp and generated report. It fetches the submitted public homepage and public search results to create the report. The self-description is used only as a comparison baseline; it does not control what search engines or AI systems retrieve.
The submitted homepage is fetched by the server, which means the server sees that address. The public search results come from Bing's RSS interface; Google is not queried directly. Your email address is used to send the report and is stored alongside it. The network address is kept only to enforce rate limits — one report per domain per day, one per email per day, and three per network per day.
The current GEO scope runs Gemini only when the server environment contains GEMINI_API_KEY; those requests enable Google Search grounding and capture returned public sources. The Codex check is attempted only when the server's own CLI login is readable by the web process — currently it is not, so that check reports itself as unavailable rather than running. ChatGPT is marked as coming soon. Claude, Perplexity and Grok are not tested. When Gemini is not configured, the report uses a public Bing RSS search fallback and says so. When a report cannot be sent because no local mail transport is configured, it remains available through the report link shown on the form.
A public report link, if you create one, shows the domain and the results only. It never contains your email address or your self-description.
Optional analytics
If you choose “Accept analytics”, MySkills loads Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand visits and improve the product. If you continue without analytics, these services are not loaded. You can clear the choice from your browser storage.
Until you make that choice, the banner appears at the bottom of the page and no analytics script is requested. Declining is the default and needs no action. To change it later, clear this site's data in your browser.
Accounts and payments
Signing in uses Google OAuth. MySkills receives your email address, a Google account identifier and a session cookie. Payment details are handled by Stripe and never reach this server; MySkills only stores a customer reference and your plan.
