PDF → MARKDOWN · LOCAL IN YOUR BROWSER
Drop in a PDF with selectable text. MySkills reads it in this browser tab, suggests heading structure from text size, and lets you copy or download the Markdown.
Your PDF is not uploaded to MySkills.
THE CONVERTER
Best for reports, guides and exported documents—not scans or dense layouts.
Nothing has left your browser. Choose a PDF when you are ready.
MARKDOWN OUTPUT
Your Markdown will appear here.
TRY A REAL FILE
Try our one-page project brief before choosing your own file. The sample includes a heading, paragraph and list. It is generated for this demonstration and contains no personal data.

Headings are inferred from font size. Run the sample to see the extracted text and spacing.

It needs selectable text. A scanned document is just pixels, so it needs OCR—which this free local version deliberately does not run.
Headings are inferred from relative type size. Tables, columns, footnotes and complex formatting can lose their original structure.
PDF TEXT FOR AI
Convert the file, compare the Markdown with the PDF, then copy only the parts you want to share. Conversion stays in your browser; pasting the result into an external AI service sends that text to that service.
This browser converter uses PDF.js text extraction. It does not run Microsoft's MarkItDown and does not convert Word, Excel or PowerPoint files.
THE OTHER DIRECTION
Use the companion workflow to make a readable PDF for a client, teammate or handoff.

No. The PDF is selected, opened and processed in your current browser tab. The PDF library is served from MySkills; it does not receive the contents of the document.
A scan stores an image of a page rather than the characters on it. Turning that into text requires OCR. This version does not use OCR, so it does not add server cost or send the document to a third party.
Not reliably. This is a text-extraction tool, not a faithful layout converter. Use it for an editable starting point, then check the Markdown against the original PDF.
